If you have attended one of our events, you may have made or been given a colorful bracelet.  This bracelet tells a story with the colors.  Here is the story...

Friendship Bracelets_edited.jpg

The gold bead or strand represents heaven and creation in the beginning of time.  God created everything including humans to rule the animals and land, but also to worship God.  If you have a Bible, read Genesis 1 & 2.  God is Creator and in chapter 2 He is known as "Lord" or Master.  However, chapter 3 of Genesis introduces a serpent who is Satan.  Satan was one of God's most beautiful creations.  The Bible tells us that Satan wanted to be "God" and therefore was cast out of Heaven.  He has been defeated and now attempts to destroy God's creation in His own image, man.

The dark bead or strand represents sin, chaos, and confusion.  In Genesis 3, the serpent (Satan) convinces the humans that they could be "like" God.  As a result, sin entered the world.  This meant that humans fell out of fellowship with God and could know longer be allowed into Heaven.  When we no longer identify as God's creation, we are confused by our true identity and live in chaos.  The only way for us to regain fellowship with God or access to Heaven is to be perfect or have someone perfect be sacrificed for us.

In Genesis 3, God introduces His plan to reconcile humans.

This is where the red bead or strand comes in.  No human could be perfect so God became human.  Jesus was born and lived a perfect life and died a horrible death on a Roman cross.  His blood covers our sin according to the Bible.  Isaiah and Romans declare that through Jesus' death on the cross, we can be saved and reconciled with God.  When we trust in Jesus for our salvation, He promises to make us holy.  This is what the white bead or strand represents.  We become joint heirs with King Jesus.  The blue bead or strand represents royalty.

Finally, the green bead or strand reminds us to grow in our knowledge and love for God.  It is our prayer that you will choose to trust in Jesus for your salvation so that you can be reconciled to God and go to Heaven.  Head to the Right Now page and check out the Kid's group.
